The Lightstone Group announced today that Sonic Drive-In has signed a 40,000-square-foot, long-term lease at its Martintown Plaza shopping center in North Augusta, S.C.
The transaction is a renewal on a five-year lease Sonic already had to operate in the shopping center. The operator of the Martintown Sonic operates more than 20 restaurants in the Aiken County, S.C., area.
Sonic Drive-In started as a local hamburger stand in 1953 and has since grown into the largest drive-in chain in the restaurant business, and has the highest customer frequency rate in the quick-service restaurant industry.
