The 2009 Southeast Unsigned Artist Showcase was a Big Success

In an era where open mic’s and showcases have taken over that highlight the promoter more than the artist, these two artist where able to come together and give back to the community and to the artist that where apart of the Southeast Unsigned Artist Showcase

The 1st Southeast Unsigned Artist Showcase, that took place on Nov 27th at the Spring4th Center went off with a Huge Bang. JaMiel Cox and Mr. nWakobi, the master minds behind the event, were able to put together a very successful and promising event. In an era where open mic’s and showcases have taken over that highlight the promoter more than the artist, these two artist where able to come together and give back to the community and to the artist that where apart of the Southeast Unsigned Artist Showcase.

Two up and coming artist JaMiel Cox and Mr. nWakobi presented the 1st Southeast Unsigned Artist Showcase on Nov 27th, 2009, to allow up and coming artist the opportunity to perform in front of a live audience in concert format. The concept came to light after they found it was not many opportunities in the city that catered to artist that where not strictly hip hop. The event catered to Diverse acts such as, JaMiel Cox, 300, Yung McComb, Bliss, and Misha Fair, as well as provided an avenue to give back to the community, with a portion of the proceeds going to Hand on Atlanta, it set the bar for events of the caliber.

The Southeast Unsigned Artist Showcase will kick back off in March of 2010, where JaMiel Cox and Mr. nWakobi will take their show on the road, hitting such locations as North and South Carolina, Tampa, Birmingham, Tennessee, and Mississippi to name a few, in each city they will allow Unsigned artist the opportunity to perform in front of an audience in a concert setting, as well as give back to the community in the process.

The showcase started in Atlanta and will travel to major cities within the Southeast. As we travel to each city, the Southeast Unsigned Artist Showcase will donate partial proceeds to a local charity in that city. After the showcases, the best artists from each city will be selected to participate in an unsigned artist tour in late 2010. This event was the vision of independent Pop/R&B artist JaMiel Cox and rap artist Mr. nWakobi.
