Huffman Koos Furniture has teamed up with Pastor Wayne Brown of God's Holiness and Righteousness Church in Paterson, NJ to provide Thanksgiving dinner for needy families.

In this troubled economy, many families in New Jersey are struggling with holiday expenses. It is becoming even more difficult to put food on the table, much less a Thanksgiving feast. That's why Pastor Wayne Brown of God's Holiness and Righteousness Church in Paterson, NJ runs a food drive every year on Thanksgiving. Pastor Wayne and his congregation provide Thanksgiving dinners to dozens of low-income Paterson families. This year, the generous contributors from his parish were joined by the employees of Huffman Koos Furniture, with gratifying results.

Employees from each of eight Huffman Koos Furniture locations in New Jersey and New York donated canned and nonperishable food and turkeys to Pastor Wayne's Thanksgiving Food drive. Huffman Koos President and CEO Anthony Mehran personally donated 50 turkeys to the drive.

Boxes containing all the makings of a great Thanksgiving dinner were picked up from each store and loaded onto a truck by employees for delivery to the donation center. Huffman Koos employees unloaded the food and helped hand it out to 65 needy families in Paterson. Pastor Wayne Brown was overwhelmed with the outpouring of kindness and was grateful to all who contributed to the food drive.

After the event, Huffman Koos CEO Anthony Mehran thanked his employees for their generosity: "It was extremely gratifying to touch and help people that are not as fortunate as we are, and I want to thank all of you that participated in this great cause. We will continue this process of giving back to the community on the upcoming Toy drive in December."
