Chuckie Goodnight Foundation For The Environment Announces Winners of Second Annual Earth Day Everyday Contest

The Chuckie Goodnight Foundation For The Environment today announced artwork from 13 children across the U.S. will be featured in the nonprofit’s 2010 Earth calendar.

In August, the Foundation launched its second annual Earth Day Everyday contest, which invited children ages five to 14 to submit drawings with environmental themes for possible inclusion in the Chuckie Goodnight Foundation For The Environment’s 2010 Earth calendar.

“We were so excited to see the wide variety of artwork that children submitted,” said Cherie Ingraham, founder of the Chuckie Goodnight Foundation For The Environment. “Their passion for preserving and protecting Mother Earth is inspiring and we are happy to provide them with a creative outlet for expressing their enthusiasm about being ‘green.’”

The 13 children whose artwork will be featured in the 2010 Earth calendar are: Mia Mitchell, age 7; Faith Vuoso, age 8; Reyna Bhakta, age 11; Billy Taraia, age 8; Rebecca McCue, age 9; Camille Devincenti, age 9; Caitlin Blair, age 8; Samantha Birchard, age 8; Mary Heath, age 10; Chelsea Thomas, age 12; Thuy Van Uu, age 13; Vanessa Czeszynski, age 11; and, Carlie Buettner, age 11. All winners will receive a copy of the Chuckie Goodnight Foundation For The Environment’s 2010 Earth calendar, membership in the Chuckie Goodnight Foundation For The Environment, as well as a goody bag of organic prizes.

The goal of the Chuckie Goodnight Foundation For The Environment’s annual Earth calendar is to encourage children to ‘go green’ by becoming good Earth Stewards. The calendar highlights environmental holidays throughout the year including World Forestry Day (March 21) and World Environment Day (June 5), among others. The calendar is printed on recycled paper with vegetable dyes in keeping with the Foundation’s Earth friendly mission.
