At the same time, the real criteria is what we call the NYI difference: the ability to combine such industrial-strength controls with a service level that is above-and-beyond any standard measure.
New York, NY (PRWEB) December 15, 2009
The New York Internet Company (NYI), an award-winning mission-critical service provider, has completed Type I examination in conformity with the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants (AICPA) Statement on Auditing Standards No. 70 (SAS 70) for Service Organizations.
A SAS 70 Type I report is the result of an independent audit opinion on requisite customer controls in place as of a specific date. NYI's audit was conducted by the auditing firm Kirkpatrick Price, LLC, which issued a favorable opinion about NYI's new data center, located at 999 Frontier Road in Bridgewater, New Jersey.
According to the AICPA, the core components of the control environment, known as the five elements of internal control, include Control Environment, Risk Assessment, Control Activities, Information/Communication and Monitoring.
"The presence of these controls indicates that as a service organization, NYI conforms with Industry Best Practices for security and operation. Their compliance so early in the process of bringing the new facility online is evidence of a proactive stance toward their more security-conscious customers," said Todd Stephenson, SAS 70 Specialist with Kirkpatrick Price, LLC.
"It is incumbent upon service providers, particularly those with customers in financial services and other transaction-based industries, to undergo such certification processes to demonstrate that internal processes are managed efficiently and effectively," said Phillip Koblence, VP, NYI. "At the same time, the real criteria is what we call the NYI difference: the ability to combine such industrial-strength controls with a service level that is above-and-beyond any standard measure."
NYI is an award-winning mission-critical service provider which has been named a top service provider five times this year alone, by networking analysis experts Netcraft. In keeping with their track record of excellence, 999 Frontier operates seamlessly with NYI's main data center in Lower Manhattan, right in the heart of Wall Street, while offering the most advanced and secure suite of services available anywhere.
