Today Preti Flaherty announced that Neal Pratt has joined the firm as a Partner in its Litigation Group and will be practicing primarily out of its Portland office. Pratt is an experienced trial attorney with 20 years of success trying cases before juries, judges, arbitrators and administrative tribunals.
Prior to joining Preti Flaherty, Pratt was for many years a Partner at Verrill Dana where he served as Chair of its Trial Department and as the firm’s General Counsel.
Pratt is recognized by many prominent peer and client review organizations, including Best Lawyers in America® (construction litigation), Chambers USA: America's Leading Lawyers for Business® (commercial litigation), and New England Super Lawyers® (business litigation). He is also a Fellow of the Maine Bar Foundation.

Pratt’s diverse practice focuses largely on commercial and construction litigation, product liability matters, and employment disputes. He also has extensive experience in professional liability and ethics complaints, insurance coverage claims, and white collar criminal defense. In addition, Pratt has a growing Alternative Dispute Resolution practice and is frequently asked to mediate disputes involving a wide variety of subject matters.
Pratt is a 1983 graduate of the University of Maine (B.A.) and a 1989 graduate of Franklin Pierce Law Center (J.D.). He is admitted to practice in Maine, the U.S. District Court for the District of Maine and the U.S. Court of Appeals, First Circuit. He is a native of Bangor, Maine and currently resides in Scarborough, Maine.
