Dr. James McAnally, Seattle Dentist, has been named one of approximately 250 dentists in the US as a top leader in the education of other dentists. Two other Seattle dentists, Dr. John Kois and Dr. Frank Speer were named to the same list.

Dentistry Today, the world's leading clinical magazine for dentists, recently announced their designation of Dr. James McAnally, a Seattle dentist focused on implant dentistry and dentistry for highly fearful patients, as a top leader in continuing dental education in the US. Dentistry Today recognizes those dentists each year who they deem contribute the most to the profession of dentistry via education to their peers with the annual designation.

Other Seattle dentists included in this years list were Dr. John Kois and Dr. Frank Speer. For Dr. McAnally, this is the second year in a row that Dentistry Today placed him on their annual list. Dr. McAnally states, "It's an honor to be named a leader in dentistry two years running. One of the main aspects of the education programs we conduct includes how to communicate with our patients the very complex concepts that today's dentistry involves in ways that are understandable to our patients. With this ability to simply complex ideas and treatments, patients can finally make informed decisions about their dentistry. This honor continues to prove that for most dentists the ability to communicate effectively with the patient could be greatly improved by one our courses."

Dr. McAnally is the only Seattle dentist teaching communication skills for dentists named to the list. He continues, "As another example of the importance of these skills, one of the most profound changes in dentistry right now is the awareness of how much gum health can impact overall health. Unfortunately, the profession's general ability to communicate exactly what this means and what to do about this science to the average patient is a complete failure. When a patient truly understands, in ways that matter to the individual, that they could have less risk to their health and perhaps even more longevity based on the emerging data and because of the fact there dentist and physician are also communicating about these risk effectively, that's when the science makes a real impact in our patient's life and on their health."

In addition to the Dentistry Today designation, Dr. McAnally has also received the most written peer endorsements of any dentist in the Northwest of other dentists recommending to local patients that they seek out his services.

Dr. McAnally ends with, "For patients considering implant dentistry, medical grade anesthesia/sedation dentistry, or who are looking for help reducing the complexity of their dental decision that impact long term health, it's an honor to have so many peers writing endorsements of the special Method of dentistry we use in the Seattle dental practice."
