ETF Portfolio Solutions, Inc., one of the nation’s first and leading investment advisers specializing in the portfolio management of exchange traded funds (ETFs), announced today that the company’s management approved a name change to ETF Portfolio Partners, Inc.

Founded in 2004 by Richard D. Romey, author of Strategic Index Investing-Unlocking the Power of Exchange Traded Index Funds, ETF Portfolio Partners serves investors by designing, implementing and maintaining equity, fixed and alternative investment portfolios utilizing ETFs, the modern day version of the mutual fund. “ETF Portfolio Partners better reflects the success of our expanded mission to serve not only individual investors, but other investment advisers through sub-advisory relationships, institutions such as foundations and endowments, as well as 401(k) plans,” said Mr. Romey.

William E. Koehler, CFA, joined ETF Portfolio Partners as Chief Investment Officer in 2008 from American Century Investments. A 27 year asset management veteran, Mr. Koehler is responsible for all investment policy formation, portfolio management and capital market research. “Our new name better reflects the type of relationship we have with our clients—in that of a partnership. In addition to being more client-centric, the name ETF Portfolio Partners also highlights the growth of our firm. Many investors, individual and institutional alike, are actively looking for a new approach. ETFs are going to be the investment vehicle of choice for an ever increasing number of forward thinking investors in the next decade,” said Mr. Koehler. “In a stunning testimony to the popularity of ETFs, after only eight years, the ETF division at Vanguard has amassed total assets under management of almost $90 billion. This total alone exceeds the firm-wide assets under management of all but a handful of the largest mutual fund complexes,” added Mr. Koehler.

First introduced in 1993, ETFs combine the most attractive features of index mutual funds and common stocks. Portfolios of ETFs have the low cost, tax efficiency, and diversification benefits of index mutual funds and the liquidity, flexibility and intra-day trading of common stocks. Presently, there are over 800 ETFs with total global assets of nearly $1 trillion.

ETF Portfolio Partners, Inc., headquartered in Leawood, Kansas, is a fee based SEC registered investment adviser offering nine risk-adjusted and three alternative investment strategy portfolios comprised entirely of ETFs. The firm offers investors a powerful alternative to mutual fund based portfolios and packaged financial products. The structured, disciplined approach combines proven strategies, a responsible fee structure, transparency, communication and accessibility.
