Utility Board Shops Announces Fifth Annual "Battle of the Boards" Snowboarding Contest for Teen and Pre-Teen Boys and Girls

Utility Board Shops will host the Fifth Annual "Battle of the Boards" snowboarding contest, where teenage and pre-teen boys and girls can compete for thousands of dollars in prizes. The event is being held at Mountain High Restort in Wrightwood California. Additional sponsors include Burton Snowboards, Skull Candy, Volcom, Neff, 32 Boots, and Dakine. In addition to the prizes, Utility Board Shop is also giving away t-shirts, videos, and stickers.

Utility Board Shops (http://www.utilityboardshop.com) announced today that the Fifth Annual Battle of the Boards contest will take place at Mountain High Resort in Wrightwood, California on Saturday, December 19. The event gives teen and preteen boys and girls an opportunity to show off their snowboarding skills in a variety of competitions.

Battle of the Boards has become a Utility Board Shop tradition. Snowboarding enthusiasts look forward to the event each year to see up and coming athletes demonstrate exciting tricks over various boxes and rails.

“We are thrilled to be able to do this event every year,” said Utility Board Shop co-owner Kevin Sanchez. “We love seeing this kids come out and do amazing things with their boards. They are truly fearless!”

Utility Board Shop, a retailer with locations throughout southern California and Arizona, created the event to give teens and pre-teens a place to compete for incredible prizes from popular brands such as Burton, Skull Candy, Volcom, Neff, 32 Boots, and Dakine.

Sponsors were quick to line up to support the event, including Burton Snowboards. Brad Fisher, an account executive for Burton Snowboard said “The progression of the sport of snowboarding will always be one of the most important factors driving Burton snowboards. One perfect way to promote this value is to throw a good old fashion snowboard contest. We are stoked to be partnering with Utility Board Shop to push the southern California snowboard scene to new levels.”

“32 Boots, Etnies, and Neff wanted to be a part of this event and partner with Utility Board Shop and Mountain High to put the fun back into snowboarding,” said Carter Katz, who represents those lines.. “The kids are the future of snowboarding. Kids can come from all over to show their talent and creativeness to win tons of gear from the best brands.”

The competition is divided between boys 13 and under, boys 13 and above, girls 13 and under, and girls 13 and above. Each group will compete for a prize package of snowboards, boots, bindings, gloves, sweatshirts, and snowboard bags. Utility Board Shop is also giving away t-shirts, stickers, videos, and more.

Participants are encouraged to get to the Mountain High resort early to register. Registrations begins at 7am, and the competitions begin at 8am.
