Greatest Assembly of America's Custom Gunmakers and Engravers Will Showcase Artisans' Handiwork Jan. 22-24 in Reno

The American Custom Gunmakers Guild and the Firearms Engravers Guild of America will showcase the handiwork of their membership Jan. 22-24 at their annual Firearms Engravers & Gunmakers Exhibition in Reno, NV. Also participating are select members of American Bladesmith Society, the Contemporary Longrifle Association and the Knifemakers Guild.

In an event known as "The Greatest Assembly of Custom Guns and Engraving in America," the American Custom Gunmakers Guild (http://www.ACGG.org) and the Firearms Engravers Guild of America (http://www.FEGA.com) will feature the work of nearly 100 artisans.

The Firearms Engravers & Gunmakers Exhibition takes place Jan. 22-24 at John Ascuaga's Nugget in Reno, NV. Also on display will be creations by select members of the American Bladesmith Society, the Contemporary Longrifle Association and the Knifemakers Guild.

According to organizers, the exhibition "is the only event in 2010 to see truly fine quality firearms and meet America's best custom gunmakers and firearm engravers."

The annual gathering is designed to help increase awareness of fine quality custom firearms as well as advance custom gunmaking as an accepted art form. Entry price for the public is $20 per person per day.

Days and times for the Jan. 22-24 exhibition are Friday, noon to 9 p.m.; Saturday and Sunday, 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. As in past years, seminars will take place on Monday, Jan. 25. For updates visit http://twitter.com/customguns.

In addition to showcasing the handiwork of nearly 100 artisans from across the United States, the exhibition will feature items and services donated for the annual FEGA/ACGG auction that takes place Saturday, Jan. 23.

Auction items include a Black Walnut Stock Blank donated by Al Ward of Al's Custom Stocks, a book on Advanced Gunsmithing donated by Jim Wear of Wears Harness and Framed Engraving Prints donated by Jim Coffin.
