”Our desire was to create a package that incorporates a wide spectrum of our readers’ interests and embraces an entirely upscale, yet rock and roll sensibility,” said Greg Di Benedetto, publisher of Guitar Aficionado. The glossy magazine is published quarterly and the Beck/Clapton concert is its first premium travel package.

“We’re proud to partner with Guitar Aficionado in this unique travel package,” said Doug Stukel, CEO of “Our goal is to bring exciting opportunities to our members, helping them find the experiences they can’t get anywhere else.”

Beck and Clapton were both members of the legendary Yardbirds in the 1960s, although they were not in the band at the same time. Both went on to very successful solo careers and are listed among Rolling Stone Magazine’s Top 100 guitar players of all time, with Clapton at No. 4 and Beck at No. 14. The two guitar maestros have been friends for decades but have rarely shared the same stage.

In February of 2008, Beck and Clapton headlined a show in Japan for the first time. That experience led to the limited-engagement tour in February 2010.

”I’ve always considered Jeff Beck to be one of the finest guitar players around,” Eric Clapton said in a statement announcing the tour. “He’s a friend, a great guy, and a truly gifted musician. We had such a fun time in Japan that it seemed natural to play together again.”
