Media Logic Makes Noise with Annual Holiday Card

Each year, Media Logic views their annual company holiday card as an opportunity to get creative, get personal and get everyone they know in a festive mood. This year was no different. Featuring a rich blend of found sounds (and a splash of Social Juice) Media Logic's 2009 season's greeting consists of an interactive online module with a holiday music video that brings employees together as a seasonal symphony. This "Joyful Noise" is featured on a microsite and as part of their company Facebook fan page - offering visitors the chance to watch the video, add additional loops and sounds to the mix, or create their own joyful noises altogether. Media Logic even created a second video that pulled back the curtain to show some of the fun they had putting it all together. It's an interactive display of collective cheer that is truly something to enjoy, share and talk about. In other words, it's the perfect social season's greeting.

Media Logic has a history of creating interesting alternative to the typical Holiday card. Past years’ efforts have included everything from a working Zoetrope to collections of festive employee recipes, holiday memories, favorite toys and more.

This year’s production continues that tradition. Featuring a rich blend of found sounds, Media Logic’s 2009 season’s greeting offers a collective cup of holiday cheer that is easy to enjoy, share and talk about. In other words, it’s the perfect social season’s greeting and a great example of a Media Logic Social Juice Promotion at work.

Media Logic unveiled their 2009 Holiday "Card" this week - an interactive online experience that not only brings employees together in a surreal seasonal symphony, but also gives clients, colleagues, vendors, friends and anyone in the festive spirit the chance to play along.

Featured both as a microsite and as part of the company's Facebook fan page, the project began with a simple request: "think of a noise."

Media Logic then filmed each employee making that noise. Some played musical instruments. Some brought in childhood toys. Some even banged on office equipment. Any and all noises were captured, documented and dutifully appreciated. Eventually, the cacophonous mix of footage was cut, assembled, looped and spliced together to create a tuneful holiday medley.

The final video was then showcased as part of an interactive online module that allows visitors to watch the video by itself, add additional loops and sounds to the mix, or create their own joyful noises altogether. A second video pulls back the curtain to show outtakes and behind the scenes footage from the project.
