New Feature Rich Software Ensures Success, for PhEMR and its Clients

PhEMR (femur) today announced the release of its new version of its electronic medical records software (EMR/EHR) v 2.1.0. The company states that the new features added will help to ensure compliance with the new EMR standards soon to be announced.

There has been much speculation about the coming changes for the electronic medical community, but certain features are certainly required such as the ePrescribing functionality. They also state that they have strategized and enforced a plan so they are prepared to quickly respond to all future standards. “We are excited about the technology standards which are coming out. This will only lead to greater client satisfaction by easing communication within the medical community. The ability for a physician to send reports to other physicians and receive lab results almost instantly will better assist in patient care.”

This certainly is the case. With electronic medical billing, ePrescribing and Lab Interoperability the functionality of EMRs is definitely increasing. Medical claims processing has reduced physician pay-out turnaround to anywhere from 2-4 weeks as opposed to 3 months with paper claims. ePrescribing will eliminate spelling and dosage errors and allow the pharmacy to fill a prescription while the patient is still in the doctor’s office.

“We are focusing our EMR for the small practice, less than five providers in the office. Our hosted solution offers them a manageable monthly payment and they don’t have the hassle of hiring IT personnel.” As daunting as EMRs can be for a physician to implement, PhEMR has an easy to use interface, clean and simple design which allows new users to learn the system quickly.

Some features which are included in the new release are Labs, Orders, Letters, Form Generators, Payment Plans, Electronic Medical Coding and Billing, Automatic Appointment Reminder Calls, Patient Portal, Prescribing, Communication tracking and more. They have also created several modules specific to different specialists (e.g. pediatrics, vascular).

PhEMR is also offering their Patient Portal and Appointment Reminder Systems as standalone applications for physicians who don’t need or already have an EMR at this time but wish to add this functionality into their practice.
