It is the only diet application to not only focus on calorie counting, but also closely track nutrients consumption as well as blood markers.
Austin, TX (PRWEB) December 23, 2009
VidaOne Inc, a global leader in diet, fitness and health mobile applications, announced today that its new iPhone and iPod Touch diet application MyPersonalDiet is now available on Apple’s App Store. “We integrated all the features our customers wanted, and added more, such as GPS recording and Windows PC synchronization”, said Jean Louis Gareau, president of VidaOne.
MyPersonalDiet has been the de facto diet application for Windows Mobile and Palm OS devices for over 5 years, and is now available for the iPhone and iPod Touch. It is the only diet application to not only focus on calorie counting, but also closely track nutrients consumption as well as blood markers. The target audience is two-fold: people who want to manage (lose, gain or maintain) their weight, and people who need to carefully monitor their food consumption due to food restrictions, a medical condition or other health goals.
MyPersonalDiet includes a journal to enter daily information, a calendar that highlights body weight, and multiple charts to review any data. Its food database of over 8000 items has been updated with hundreds of popular restaurant food items and can be customized. Both American or Metrics units are supported, as well as calories and kilojoules.
MyPersonalDiet also takes advantage of the iPhone’s integrated GPS capabilities and provides a live GPS workout recording that shows the current route, duration, speed and distance while exercising, which can be reviewed afterwards on Google Maps, all on the iPhone and iPod Touch.
“A key feature is the synchronization with VidaOne Diet & Fitness, our Windows PC application, because it ensures that the same diet data is on both your mobile device and PC, exactly like your contacts or appointments. Like all other versions of MyPersonalDiet, the iPhone version can synchronize all its data with our PC application,” explains Gareau. “This feature offers unparalleled advantages. It is sometimes easier to enter data using a PC keyboard, such as journal notes, and the synchronization brings it to the mobile device. But more importantly, if your iPhone or iPod Touch is damaged, lost or stolen, or if you switch to another mobile device, the synchronization brings back your valuable data to your new phone in seconds. I personally have 10 years worth of diet and workout data on my iPhone thanks to the synchronization with all the mobile devices I've used over the years.”
Despite including numerous features, MyPersonalDiet was designed to make its core features readily available via a Today screen that highlights how many calories can still be consumed for the rest of the day without exceeding the diet goals, along large, clear buttons to enter new meals, workouts and health data.
VidaOne Diet & Fitness was recently upgraded to version 3, featuring the synchronization with iPhone and iPod Touch, a new user interface, support for Garmin and Polar heart rate monitors, along new data fields. In addition to diet tracking, it includes powerful features to track both cardio and strength training workouts and monitor health conditions. VidaOne Diet & Fitness earned TopTenREVIEWS’ GOLD Award in the Fitness Software Review category earlier this year. VidaOne Diet & Fitness runs on Windows 7, Vista and XP, and can be used (including the synchronization) by Mac OS X users via Windows emulators.
