People travelling to Prague in January may be interested in one of the city's classical music events taking place at the start of the year.

Classical music fans will probably be pleased to hear that one of Prague's popular Chamber Concerts is being held in the city in January.

Set in the striking Klementinum in the Czech capital's Old Town district, it is the perfect setting for renditions of works by some of the genre's most famous masters.

The concert on January 8th will see the Beethoven Trio and the Eve String Quartet take to the stage and perform music from Beethoven, Dvorak, Mozart, Schubert and Vranitzky.

Tickets for the show, which begins at 17:00 local time, start from €30 (£26.63).

People staying in accommodation in Prague (http://www.laterooms.com/en/k12672232_prague-hotels.aspx) may want to head to the venue early to explore its varied halls and rooms.

According to pragueexperience.com, the Klementinum "boasts a rich architectural evolution" and some of Europe's most famous scientists, musicians, astronomers and philosophers have walked its halls.

Visitors can take a tour of the buildings in the complex, with highlights including the Mirror Chapel - featuring extensive frescoes and carvings and an organ once played by Mozart on a visit to the city - and an Astronomical Tower that offers panoramic views over Prague.

Tours run every hour Monday to Thursday from 10:00 to 17:00 local time and every half hour over the weekend.
