"Full blown musical salvation... funky loose limbed rock 'n' soul.” – Jonathan Zwickle, Music Editor, Broward-Palm Beach New Times
Miamai, FL (PRWEB) December 29, 2009
Just announced, Florida-based rock band, The Heavy Pets, will play a post-Phish show at Tobacco Road in Miami, December 28, 29 and 30. Free transportation will be available via Miami MetroMover from the Phish concert at American Airlines arena to Tobacco Road, approximately one mile away. The show starts at midnight and tickets are available at the door for $10.
Five skilled musicians who are also lyricists and songwriters, The Heavy Pets have earned a tribal following for their explosive live performances and original jams crammed with hot electric licks, multi-climactic instrumental solos and fantastical lyrics revealing inspired philosophical leanings. The 2007 release of their acclaimed double-disc debut album, Whale, launched The Heavy Pets to the single most played independent act on Sirius’ Jam_On station, largely due to the instant popularity of hit tracks “Operation of Flight” and “Sleep”. Festival darlings at Bonnaroo, moe.down, Langerado and most recently, Bear Creek, where JamBase called their sets “bursting with force,” “blistering,” and “aggressive jam-rock and progressive material,” The Heavy Pets compel audiences to move and groove with their commanding blend of rock and roll, rhythm and blues, jazz-funk and reggae fusion.
