The leading spray foam insulation contractors at SealRite Spray Foam have recently provided insulation installation services for the development of New Jersey’s first LEED Platinum-certified residence. The LEED Platinum certification is the highest level of energy efficiency and green certification offered by the Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design (LEED) Green Building Rating System™.

Located on Cross Street in Hillsdale, the home was developed in response to Governor Corzine’s energy plan, which calls for 30% of New Jersey homes to use renewable, efficient resources by the year 2020.

The home exceeds the high standards of the 16,822 residences that have already been built to Energy Star specifications as set by the Corzine administration and the U.S. Department of Energy for New Jersey's Clean Energy Program. 70% more efficient than a conventional structure, the Hillsdale residence utilizes some of the latest, most energy efficient technology available. A wide range of sustainable materials were used to build the home, including bamboo flooring, reclaimed pine cabinets, polymer roofing and soy-based SealRite Spray Foam.

The advanced spray foam insulation installation provided by SealRite will serve to improve the home’s efficiency by providing a complete air seal in the roof and walls to reduce heat loss and lower energy bills by up to 50%. According to Anzhelika Ronis, Sales and Marketing Administrator of SealRite, this sustainable home insulation works by capitalizing on solar energy to keep the home’s heating and cooling systems operating at minimum levels.

“SealRite is proud to have had the opportunity to help New Jersey take this ecologically profound step in green building,” Ronis reports.

“Green building is not a trend that has passed or part of the distant future, but a current responsibility which homeowners and builders should embrace for both its cost-effectiveness and positive influence on the environment. The Hillsdale project has paved the way for more environmentally friendly building, and the project speaks volumes about the impact of energy efficiency to the pocket of the American homeowner and to the nation as a whole.”
