Top Long Island children's orthodontist, Dr. Inna Gellerman, celebrates the holiday season by participating in various community events, including Thanksgiving food drives, holiday toy drives and Italian cooking night. She is also offering a New Year's special with a chance to win tickets to see the New York Islanders or the Radio City Christmas Spectacular. Dr. Gellerman's generous holiday plans allow her to thank her community and patients for their loyalty and inspiration throughout 2009.

"My patients mean the world to me, even when they're not sitting in the orthodontist’s chair. I wanted a chance to give back to my community outside of the office, and what better time than the season of giving. The holidays are often a slow time for us, so the office stays busy and continues to serve patients by giving food and toys to those in need. It's a lot of fun, and it allows us to help others in ways that don't involve braces or dental appliances," says Dr. Gellerman.

Dr. Gellerman and her Long Island office kicked off the holiday season with a Thanksgiving food drive with Habitat for Humanity, donating three baskets of turkey and food to families in need. They also collected toys and donations for the Family Service League, providing children with gifts during the holiday season.

In addition to holiday donations, Dr. Gellerman is hosting an Italian cooking night at Mr. Sausage, where staff and patients can mingle outside of the office environment while learning how to cook their favorite Italian dishes and enjoying fine Italian wine. As a celebration of the new year, Dr. Gellerman is offering a New Year's special that gives patients a chance to win tickets to a New York Islanders' hockey game or the Radio City Christmas Spectacular event.

"I love working with my patients, and I enjoy seeing them outside of the office as well. The cooking night is a great way for staff and patients to get together outside of the orthodontist/patient setting and just have a good time with new friends. Our New Year's special is our way of saying thanks and kicking off 2010. A strong relationship with patients is important, so when the time comes to receive treatment, they'll feel completely comfortable and at ease," says Dr. Gellerman.
