CALM Energy, Inc. announced today that it is partnered with Consolidated Edison, Inc., Columbia University, The Prosser Group, and other energy experts in filing for smart grid stimulus funds from the U.S. Department of Energy (DOE). Con Edison leads the team requesting approximately $46 million to help fund smart grid demonstration projects in the New York and New Jersey areas.
"By creating the smart grid through an integrated 'transmission to distribution to customer' foundation of information and intelligence," according to CALM Energy's CEO John Johnson, "utilities and consumers will have enhanced visibility and control over managing energy usage, reliability, and cost."
