My practice is certainly not blind to the current recession. We have seen effects of the economy in our practice, but we are simply not feeling as stressed as some other practices around the country.
Mountain View, CA (Vocus) March 24, 2009
The recently published survey by the American Society for Aesthetic Plastic Surgery (ASAPS) revealed that the number of plastic surgeries has declined by over 15% in 2008. This is largely attributed to the economic downturn. However, of those surgeries performed last year, the top five most popular plastic surgery procedures performed were Abdominoplasty, Rhinoplasty, Blepharoplasty, Liposuction and Breast Augmentation. San Jose plastic surgeon, Dr. Robert Lowen, finds that the procedures data was mirrored in his practice for 2008 as well.
Dr. Robert Lowen, board certified plastic surgeon, San Jose, acknowledges that 2008 was a challenging year, but at the same time his practice has survived due to a loyal patient base and strong educational efforts.
“In practice for over twenty years, my practice is well established in the Mountain View and San Jose area. It is this extensive surgical experience and practice history that potential patients see first when looking for a qualified surgeon in the area,” says Dr. Robert Lowen.
Dr. Lowen continues, “My practice is certainly not blind to the current recession. We have seen effects of the economy in our practice, but we are simply not feeling as stressed as some other practices around the country.”
For plastic surgery, San Jose and Mountain View area patients have proven to be loyal in their repeat visits as well as with their referrals to friends and family. Dr. Lowen again, “A patient who once came in for BOTOX injections or laser treatments, may have come to the time in life where a face lift or eyelid lift may be chosen. We’ve found our patients have a tendency to continue visiting our practice because of the trust we have built up for their non-invasive treatments.”
Dr. Lowen’s website is another distinction that sets his practice apart. “My staff works tremendously hard to make sure that our patients are educated on the procedures they are considering. This education helps patients feel more comfortable making the decision for plastic surgery. San Jose men and women can visit our website to read about procedure information and to view before and after images as a first step in their personal decision making process.”
