Red Funnel, Isle of Wight Ferries has responded to a surge in van traffic on its Southampton/East Cowes route by introducing online booking and electronic ticketing for vans and other commercial vehicles up to 8m in length and 4.9m in height.

Red Funnel also offers online booking for a wide variety of vehicles including minibuses, horseboxes, motorhomes, motorcycles and all sizes of private vehicles. The new functionality is the latest in a series of innovations unveiled in 2009. Earlier this year Red Funnel introduced the ability for drivers to track its vessels using twitter, launched an SMS service for travel updates and installed real-time information screens at its terminals.
