The 2009 MRS. AMERICA Pageant (http://www.MrsAmerica.tv) was held at standing room capacity in the Grand Ballroom of the LOEWS Ventana Canyon Resort inTucson, AZ on September 8, 2009 at 7:00PM. The audience thundered with cheers and applause as the Palo Verde High School marching band from Tucson, AZ opened the show.

ALAN THICKE and FLORENCE HENDERSON co-hosted the extravaganza, now in its 33rd year of production, replete with live music, dance, colorful costumes and stunning gowns. Musical performances, which included the Tucson Children's Mariachi Group and the award-winning women's choir, Tucson Desert Harmony, were provided courtesy of MENC (http://www.menc.org), The National Association for Music Education, and represented at the 2009 MRS. AMERICA Pageant by Mr. Earl Hurrey, Deputy Executive Director Business Development for MENC.

The week leading up to the 2009 MRS. AMERICA Pageant included an off-site ECO-friendly, ECO-driven, GREEN tree planting excursion with Habitat for Humanity-Habitat Tucson-Women Build and the 51 MRS. AMERICA Delegates. The MRS. AMERICA organization continues a thirty-three year focused commitment in the empowerment of women through their active participation in giving back to their communities. The new 2009 MRS. AMERICA will champion this mission statement during her 2009 - 2010 reign, and lead the way for her fellow married women to join the MRS. AMERICA movement in making a positive difference in the lives of American families in need. The MRS. AMERICA Pageant is produced by MRS. AMERICA, Inc. under the direction of President and Executive Producer, Mr. David Z. Marmel.

The three finalists at the 2009 MRS. AMERICA Pageant were MRS. MISSOURI, MRS. MINNESOTA and MRS. VIRGINIA.

The Grand Ballroom at the LOEWS Ventana Canyon Resort stirred quietly and at the edge of their seats as the elimination process began.

First Runner-Up ... MRS. MINNESOTA: Heather Hall

WINNER ... MRS. MISSOURI: Andrea Robertson
