Hanover, NH (PRWEB) January 14, 2010
EmployFlex, which promotes workplace flexibility and celebrates organizations that are working to meet the needs of a changing workforce, announced today that it is partnering with Tory Johnson, the CEO of Women For Hire, a leading provider since 1999 of recruitment services for professional women and top employers.
Johnson will work with EmployFlex to highlight companies around the country that offer various flexible work options to their employees. She will soon announce the impressive inaugural roster of organizations and corporate participants when the Flex-Friendly program and certificate officially launch later this quarter.
“Even more than a bigger paycheck, today’s workforce wants control over its time. Where, when and how we’re able to do our work often determines job performance and loyalty to an employer,” says Tory Johnson, who is also the Workplace Contributor on ABC’s Good Morning America and a frequent speaker on career advancement throughout the country.
“Women For Hire is thrilled to partner on the Flex-Friendly certificate and program, which enables employers of all sizes to tout their commitment to flexibility, which—whether you have two, 200 or 20,000 employees—is an essential component to creating a best place to work.”
The Flex-Friendly program and website will soon feature certified companies and their business thought leaders around the country discussing the strong business case for flex. It will also offer a range of first-person stories from employees currently benefiting from full-time and part-time flexible work options such as telecommuting, compressed workweeks, phased retirement, graduated on-ramping , daily, or weekly, or monthly flex schedules, and other forms of flexible working. The certificate is gender-neutral , and recognizes that flexibility is the top request of all types of most employees from Baby Boomers to Generation Y.
According to EmployFlex co-founder and CSO, Annie Farnsworth, Ph.D. “Companies that offer flexibility to their workers are among the most successful businesses in any economy, and flexibility is also an increasingly important part of socially responsible business practices supporting the health of the workplace, communities, and the environment. For companies who want to support a greener economy telecommuting and virtual meetings are among the most effective ways to save a range of resources including time, money and CO2.”
Says EmployFlex CEO, Jane Seibel, “Flexibility is simply the best way to attract, retain and incentivize today’s workers. Employees who have access to some flexibility in their schedules have consistently been found in a range of studies to be more engaged, committed and satisfied with their jobs and more likely to stay with their employers. Flexibility is happening everywhere but few organizations are talking about this publicly. We’re helping businesses to do this and we’re very excited to have workplace expert, Tory Johnson helping us to get the word out. ”
