Kansas City, KS (PRWEB) January 20, 2010

Secret Search Engine Labs, a start up search engine run by Finnish software engineer and entrepreneur Simon Byholm, announced today that it joins the Independent Search Engine and Directory Network (ISEDN).

"By joining the ISEDN we get access to the large number of text ads of the ISEDN featured listing program", says Byholm adding that "reselling the featured listings will allow us to better monetize the search results pages giving us the resources to further expand the search engine in 2010"

According to Simon joining the ISEDN was the logical next step following the invitation to the public on January 6 to join in beta testing. "The exposure we get from the ISEDN allows us to reach more webmasters and SEO professionals that can benefit from a search engine designed to reveal, not hide, how search results are created", Simon explains.

For the past two and a half years Simon Byholm has quietly been developing his next generation search engine using algorithms that he claims will give you accurate search results with an index size a thousand times smaller than the industry standard.

"There's a lot of content out there that you don't need to see, that you don't want to see" says Simon adding that his search engine has strong content filters and indexes only the useful parts of the Internet. It does not include adult, gambling or sexually explicit websites in the index. "There's many other search engines covering those areas of the Internet", says Simon.

Secret Search Engine Labs moved operations to the current website in the beginning of 2009 and has since upgraded it's servers three times. "We are currently using a 720MB VPS server from Linode" says Simon, but promises there will be an upgrade soon. "720MB just isn't enough for smooth database operations at this index size. We increased the query speed by over 2000% last week but the new database structure uses a lot of memory and will force us to upgrade servers soon"

According to their blog, Secret Search Engine Labs is planning to grow the index from the current 200,000 pages to more than a million pages by the end of the year.

The ISEDN was founded in June, 2005 by Jayde Online, Inc., the parent company of ExactSeek.com, to make the flat fee, non-PPC, featured listing feed of ExactSeek available to a broader community of search engines and directories.

"We are happy to have Secret Search Engine Labs become a member of the ISEDN.org." says Barry Green, Vice President of Business Development at ISEDN.org, and ads that "The partnership with Secret Search Engine Labs means wider distribution of the featured listings and increasing the value and continuing growth of the ISEDN.org network, now with over 375 member search engines and web directories."

Members of the ISEDN benefit from the network by being able to resell the ExactSeek featured listings adding a revenue stream to the website while they support the network by displaying the featured listing on their search results pages or on directory category pages.

The ISEDN consists of more than 375 independent search engines and directories generating over 120 million combined ad impression every month. With a growth rate of 5-10 new members every month it is set to provide a dependable source of revenue for it's members for years to come.
