Pittsburgh, PA (PRWEB) January 9, 2010
Lori had randomly been chosen by Discovery Channel's hit show Pitchmen to present her product and audition in front of their cameras at the Electronic Retailing Association's (ERA) annual D2C convention. The ERA is America's leading trade association for companies using direct-to-consumer marketing to sell products. Their members' are well known for products like The SnuggieTM, P90X®, Oxiclean®, Bowflex® and Tony Little's Ab Isolator®.
Lori's phone call was merely an inquiry to find out if InventHelp® was aware of the upcoming ERA show and knew anything about the audition process. She was also looking for suggestions on how to audition. Lori reached InventHelp® Director of Communications, Nicole Hait. "I was pleased to inform Lori that not only were we aware of the ERA convention, but InventHelp® formed a partnership with the ERA to be the sole organizer of the New Product Showcase for inventors at the show," said Nicole. "I explained how the audition process was going to work but also mentioned something Lori wasn't expecting. Since this was an unusual opportunity to publicize her invention, InventHelp® offered to do some extra work."
InventHelp created 3D Cad drawings and a prototype of Lori's invention, EZ Coupons. EZ Coupons is an electronic scanning device that enables the user to take advantage of coupons more easily. The device would save time and eliminate the need to carry clipped coupons.
InventHelp® Director of Product Development Joseph Diresta put his group to work on Lori's invention to make sure she would have professional materials. Diresta states, "This was the only InventHelp® client that we were aware of that had been handpicked by Discovery Channel to audition. We really wanted to do something creative to help her. We came up with a great prototype and an iphone application for the EZ Coupons."
Lori was excited to learn that InventHelp® was going to be a major participant at the ERA Show and was going to help her. "All of a sudden after one phone call, my invention was taking on a life of its own, with specialized 3D Cad drawings, and a looks-like prototype. InventHelp® also referred me to a patent attorney who advised me to secure a provisional patent before I got to the ERA Show."
Lori hopped on a plane a few days later, flew to Las Vegas and presented her invention to the Discovery channel. "I'm very pleased with InventHelp's creative efforts on behalf of my invention. They reacted quickly and made sure I was prepared to present my product," said Lori. As of right now, she is still waiting to find out if her invention will be featured on season 2 of Pitchmen. A large company in the direct response television industry is also currently researching the market and viability of the EZ Coupons. All involved are keeping their fingers crossed.
