iReadandLearn.com, a company dedicated to creating quality iPhone applications for children launched its first product line of children’s titles called iMotherGoose that includes classic stories, educational apps, original stories, and nursery rhymes. Each application is illustrated with original art from local artists and narrated for children to enjoy, featuring easy, self-paced touch screen for little hands to navigate.
iMotherGoose is a product line of iReadandLearn.com, a company owned and created by Rich Foreman to create quality children’s applications for the iPhone parent. Foreman says, “I hope to offer parents apps that are both entertaining and educational for their children, it is a great way to sit and read with your children, or keep them busy when you are traveling, shopping or in the car together – they are interactive and entertaining.”
Current titles available include Mother Goose Nursery Rhymes, Jack and the Beanstalk, Hansel and Gretel, The Emperor’s New Clothes, Three Little Pigs, Tiggers Makes Breakfast, and children’s holiday favorites, The Night Before Christmas, and Buttons, the Gingerbread Boy and the Christmas Wish. Educational apps include iMotherGoose’s Counting Book: 0 to 100, iDoggie, iBugs, and the Dolch Sight Words Flash Card Series. Each application is .99 cents available through the Apple iTunes App Store with more released and available in the coming months, including some original stories.
A portion of the revenue generated from the iMotherGoose applications will benefit charities chosen by each of the artists and include Page Ahead, a non-profit children’s literacy program that collaborates with families, schools, and social service agencies to inspire a love of reading for at-risk children; Sacramento Children’s Home, an organization committed to helping build strong families and ending the cycle of child abuse; Angel Tree, a ministry that reaches out to children of inmates and their families; Eureka School Foundation (ESF) to fund art, music and sports programs for kids in Eureka Unified Public School District; Friends of NICU (Neonatal Intensive Care Unit), a non-profit dedicated to providing a helping hand to needy families with babies in the NICU; Sweet Dreams Foundation, a non-profit that designs dream bedrooms for children who have been diagnosed with a life-threatening disease; Buckland Equine Rescue Inc., a non- profit charity that rescues and rehabilitates horses; and Team Read, a program dedicated to help at risk children learn to read.
