The Institute for Health Technology Transformation announced today the speakers for their Electronic Health Records panel, which will include EHR buyers from both the ambulatory and inpatient settings at their Winter Health IT Summit.
The panel will be moderated by Judy Hanover, Research Manager, IDC, and speaking will be Mark Moyle, Chief Technology Officer, Arizona State Hospital; William Biber, EHR Department Manager, University Physicians Healthcare; Dr. Steve Margolis, Chief Medical Informatics Officer, Orlando Health; and Cindy Koelbl, Director of Contracting & Project Management, Integrated Medical Services.
Their presentation entitled, "The Mind of the EHR Buyer: Healthcare IT is at a turning point," will cover the findings of interviews with buyers conducted during the research process for the ambulatory and inpatient short list research, and the key vendors examined as part of the short list research. "With unprecedented government investment in EHRs alongside demands for interoperability, a growing schism exists between buyers on the two sides of the care spectrum, in the inpatient and ambulatory settings," said Waco Hoover, CEO, Institute for Health Technology Transformation.
Judy Hanover, who will serve as moderator, has a background in healthcare informatics, and experience working with managed care, provider and clinical applications. The technologies she covers include Electronic Health Records, Electronic Medical Records, Hospital Information Systems, Practice Management Systems, Revenue Cycle Management Systems, Disease and Case Management, and more.
Mark D. Moyle is responsible for the support and development of software as well as hardware support and implementation. Mr. Moyle has worked in the information technology field for over twenty-five years, and his past experience includes time at American Express and IBM.
William Biber has extensive EHR/EMR Project Management experience, with special focus on: business process/workflow re-engineering/re-design, implementation, and technical business analyst. He has over twenty-seven years of experience in IS/IT administration and support services, and is a certified project management professional.
Dr. Steve Margolis currently leads the clinical implementation of the electronic medical records at Orlando Regional Healthcare, and is responsible for their clinical strategy. Prior to joining ORHS, he worked as a consultant for Price Waterhouse, IBM, and Cap Gemini giving lectures and working with leading academics, hospitals, and healthcare systems internationally in the fields of EMR deployment, clinical decision support, quality, process improvement, disease management, telemedicine, and physician adoption of the EMR.
Cindy Koelbl has extensive experience in managed care, managed care operations, physician practice operations, strategic planning, and clinical space planning. She has her bachelor of science in nursing, as well as a masters of arts in education and business.
