Dallas, TX (Vocus) January 18, 2010

Downing Hill, a stylish new garden shop on Greenville Avenue, announces the first of our Go Green! series of free presentations this spring. This first presentation is Saturday, January 23, 2010 at 9:00 at Downing Hill Garden Studio. Complimentary coffee will be provided by The Pearl Cup.

Local author Anna M. Clark will lead an informal discussion with 10 simple ways to incorporate money-saving green living ideas in our everyday lives. Anna is the president of EarthPeople, a global consulting firm helping clients save money and bolster their brands through profitable green strategies. She is also a new Dallas Ambassador for Eco Tuesday, a national green networking group for sustainable business leaders, trendsetters, and though leaders.

“I’ve always maintained that you don’t need to be an expert to change the world,” Anna said. “You just have to be willing to do something different.” This is the basis of the presentation – how small actions can make a big difference. In April, Clark will release her book Green, American Style, which details how and why Americans are starting to adapt sustainability into their daily routines: at home, at work, in schools, and even in places of worship. The book, which includes 85 easy eco-friendly living tips, can help a family of four save upwards of $7,000 a year.

“Part of what we want to do is provide useful information to the community”, stated Bryan Sterling, manager of Downing Hill. “Our goal is give back to the community and providing Anna a venue to share her message is one way we can do this.”
