The "Beach Buddy's" unique, inflatable pillow design would help to relieve tension in the neck muscles and ensure that the spine remains in line while a user is lying on their stomach. The accessory would support a user's forehead and shoulders when lying face-down to prevent strain. The unit would shield a user's face from sunlight, sand and insects. Easily adjustable and ideal for traveling, the accessory could also help a user to sleep better at night, according to the inventor.
The Beach Buddy would consist of a unit composed of a head/neck pillow connected to a shoulder pillow. Both units could be composed of vinyl. The head/neck pillow would roughly feature a rectangular design and measure 5-1/2 inches high at either end, 14-inches long and 5-inches wide. A concave channel in the center of the headrest would accommodate a user's forehead. The pillow would measure 4-inches high at this point. A nozzle covered by a tab would be positioned on the left side of the head/neck pillow. Reusable covers would connect to the pillows and could be composed of a soft, absorbent, washable, microfiber material. The covers could connect by snaps or via strips of hook-and-loop fasteners. The covers could be producible in a variety of different designs, including stars, beach scenes, striped patterns and favorite logos. To operate, a user would place the unit on the sand, inflate the head/neck pillow and shoulder pillow to the desired level of comfort and lie down on one's stomach. Featuring a compact design, when not in use, the unit could be rolled up and placed in a compact carrying case.
