QImaging, a leading developer and manufacturer of high-performance, easy-to-use digital cameras for life science applications, has announced the release of its 64-bit QCam Imaging driver. This new driver adds support for Microsoft’s 64-bit Operating Systems such as Windows 7 and Microsoft Vista 64.

The QCam driver has always been a robust interface for QImaging cameras. The new 64-bit driver allows access to memory higher than the 32-bit limit of 4GB, which empowers users to acquire RAM intensive image data and streamlines the workflow by providing the ability for high speed analysis. It integrates seamlessly with a variety of popular third-party software packages, and can be installed and operational within minutes. 64-bit support for QImaging cameras is on the horizon as third-party software vendors work diligently on integrating the new driver into their offerings.

This new release of QCam 64 also includes a 64-bit version of the popular QCapture Suite which provides an easy to use interface for operating QImaging cameras. QCapture Suite allows control of all camera functions for previewing and capturing images while also providing advanced functions such as binning and selecting regions of interest.
