Sony has come out with its first lineup of high definition (HD) IP cameras. Advanced features of these cameras are going to help transition the surveillance industry from standard definition to high definition. The new HD cameras can be used in a wide range of application including casinos, airports, town/city monitoring, and hotels just to name a few.
The SNC-CH140 is a fixed box camera, the SNC-DH140 is a mini-dome camera, and the SNC-RH124 (indoor) and SNC-RH164 (outdoor) are PTZ cameras. The SNC-RH124 and SNC-RH164 are the industry's first high definition pan/tilt/zoom cameras.
All four of these cameras are jam packed with some of the industry's leading technology. First, they all support H.264, MPEG-4 and JPEG compression formats and stream HD quality video at 30fps (1280 x 720). For clear images without motion blur in low-light settings, the new Sony cameras use XDNR (excellent dynamic noise reduction). With DEPA advanced intelligent video and audio analytics, an alarm can be trigger based on rules defined by the user (intelligent motion detection, tamper alarm and advanced audio detection).
The SNC-RH124 and SNC-RH164 day/night PTZ cameras have a tilt of 210 degrees and an endless 360 degree pan. That, along with a powerful 10x optical zoom, these cameras can see virtually anywhere.
Year after year, Sony keeps upping the ante in the surveillance industry. These HD IP cameras are a strong addition to an already powerful lineup of IP cameras and other surveillance products.
