Large File Sending Email Service Experiences ‘Snow Spike’ As Workers Telecommute

Tonsho ( http://www.tonsho.com ) has reported a spike in the use of its large file sending email service during the big freeze in the UK. As workers were unable to physically get to work, telecommuting was the next best thing. With lots of large files needing to be sent to colleagues and clients as email attachments which ordinary email servers cannot process, Tonsho was called upon by many to help their businesses carry on as usual.

Tonsho really helped my husband and me to carry on as usual with his business during the snow. We could continue to work on a large proposal with a business partner even though we were unable to meet as originally planned.

Normally a large email attachment, usually over 5Mb, will bounce back marked undelivered. Consequently work grinds to a halt when workers try to send a large report with graphics or blueprints and it just bounces back. Tonsho allows users to send files of up to 100Mb directly from their usual email program, that's 20 times larger than a standard email service usually allows. For those users with heavier email attachment requirements, Tonsho provides a web-based email console which can be used to send files of up to 1Gb. This console is also invaluable when workers are out of the office and unable to use their usual email program. As long as they have access to a computer with an internet connection then they still have the power to send large email attachments of any size, which increasing numbers chose to do during the snowy period.

Compared with an equivalent period in early December, file sends increased by 48% in January. Managing Director, Edward Ross comments, “The unprecedented amount of snow was matched by an unprecedented rise in usage of Tonsho. Helping our business customers meet their email file-sending needs with zero hassle is what we are here for, and we are thrilled that we were clearly of such use to those customers during the difficult weather conditions”.

Tonsho user, Katy White commented, “Tonsho really helped my husband and me to carry on as usual with his business during the snow. We could continue to work on a large proposal with a business partner even though we were unable to meet as originally planned. As it was such a large file we wouldn’t have been able to email redrafts of the proposal to each other without Tonsho.”

So that businesses can be prepared for any future adverse weather conditions, Tonsho has a special ‘snow’ offer.
