Mingleverse Laboratories (http://www.mingleverse.com), a completely new genre of telecommunications, today announced that it has been named a nominee to receive a 2010 Telecom Council SPIFFY Award that recognizes exceptional innovation and opportunity among telecom startups. Mingleverse has been selected from more than 100 companies as a nominee for the Core Award for Best Fixed Telecom Opportunity that honors “the best investment opportunity within the fixed telecom sector”.
“We are thrilled that we have been selected by the Telecom Council as a nominee to receive a SPIFFY Award,” said Ron Stevens, Co-Founder/CEO of Mingleverse. “Hosting online meetings and virtual events is a quickly accelerating global trend that can reduce travel cost and our new MingleRoom service makes meetings much more youthful, effective and enjoyable than ever before.”
The SPIFFY Awards are presented by the Telecom Council’s Service Provider Forum (SPIF) and are considered to be the Oscars of the telecom industry by rewarding ideas, relevance, and traction that most appeal to communication service providers from around the globe. The nomination of Mingleverse into an exclusive group of innovators highlights its entirely new approach to provide a real-time communication platform that merges 3D high definition audio and video in a 3D environment. Mingle Rooms are already being used for immersive online meetings, virtual events, and for hundreds of revenue generating opportunities that were never before possible for businesses and consumers.
“Each Mingle Room host has the option to charge admission for their mingles, allowing them to convert their expertise into revenue generated from a worldwide audience”, said Stevens. “We entered the industry with the intention of initiating change, where customers could make money instead of paying high subscription fees”.
The SPIFFY award ceremony will be held on February 25 at the Aquarius Theater in Palo Alto, California. The event is open to members, the press and the general public.
The Mingleverse Mingle Room service is the next-generation of Live Web. It is a real-time, 3D voice, video and multimedia communication platform that allows anyone, anywhere to engage with others over the internet in a highly realistic, inexpensive and immersive way. Mingleverse offers 3D meeting rooms that resemble real life meetings within the browser window. Visual telecommunications, a 3D audio experience, as well as capabilities to stream recorded/live video and display presentations provide a virtual meeting experience unlike any other. Since public beta launch in September 2009, Mingleverse has hosted over 15,000 multi-person Mingles from 154 countries and Minglers have recorded over 10,000 metric tons of carbon offsets by meeting online. http://www.mingleverse.com
