Members of The Leading Hotels of the World greet 2010 with new looks, new honors and timely special offers.
Renovations, Refurbishments, New Facilities
The Twelve Apostles in Cape Town has recently completed a multi-million rand structural and interior design refurbishment, which included all of the guest rooms, bedrooms, lobby, corridors, the 24-hour Café and the one-of-a-kind Presidential Suite. The hotel's already green credentials have been further enhanced with a redesigned kitchen, which has been transformed to create an efficient and eco-friendly environment.
Hotel Le Bristol in Paris opened a new wing last fall. Situated adjacent to the current structure, and connected on each floor, it expands onto the avenue Matignon and the rue du Faubourg Saint-Honoré. The 26 new rooms, including five suites, are designed in the same traditional style as the accommodations in the original structure. The new restaurant 114 Faubourg, with Chef Eric Desbordes, is open daily, and serves a menu that is creative and original, in a warm and welcoming atmosphere.
Baur au Lac in Zurich is completing a major renovation, the centerpiece of which is the transformed Pavillon restaurant. Formerly in operation only in the summer, it is now open year-round. In addition, 32 rooms and suites have been redesigned and reconfigured into 22 larger suites, junior suites and deluxe double rooms. All suites are now equipped with Bose sound systems, and all guest rooms feature flat-screen televisions, iPod docking stations, wireless Internet and mini-bars. A new rooftop patio can accommodate up to 20 people for small receptions.
