Another Showcase Showdown Celebrates 10th Anniversary

Drama 3/4's A.S.S. FEST Plays Los Angeles' Lillian Theater - February 2010

Los Angeles, CA (PRWEB) January 22, 2010

Drama 3/4 Productions ups the ante and turns their hit comedy show, aptly titled A.S.S. FEST, into a two-week, must-see festival at Lillian Theater in Los Angeles, February 4th through February 13th. Created by David Fickas and Alex Fox in 2000, Another Showcase Showdown is a multifaceted variety show featuring live sketches, musical numbers and award-winning short films. Drama 3/4 plans to capitalize on the momentum of 10 years of sold-out shows with new material and more guest artists.

The cast of this year's A.S.S. FEST is as multitalented as ever, with longtime musical director and cast member Rachael Lawrence (vocal coach for the FOX hit "Glee"), YouTube/Internet megastar Liam Sullivan ("Kelly" from the People's Choice Award-winning video "Shoes"), Mark Kelly ("Mad Men"), and writer/producer/actor Brice Beckham (best known for his role of "Wesley" on the hit 80's sitcom "Mr. Belvedere").

A.S.S. FEST 2010 will also feature top-notch performances from Mary Elizabeth Ellis and Artemis Pebdani (from the hit FX series "It's Always Sunny in Philadelphia"), as well as comedians Bob Odenkirk and Paul F. Tompkins (from HBO's "Mr. Show With Bob and David"), in a comedy noir excerpt from "The Thrilling Adventure and Supernatural Suspense Hour." Headlining a night of stand-up will be comedienne Amy Claire, who's opened for the likes of Jonathan Winters and Dana Carvey. A.S.S. FEST will also showcase the up-and-coming sketch groups "Bowling for Tiffany" and "Good Neighbor."

Over the years, A.S.S. has featured notable appearances by such well-known actors and actresses as Academy Award-nominee Michelle Williams, Jeremy Sisto, Erik Palladino, James Lesure, Christine Lakin and Chris Hardwick. And its sold-out audiences have included such Hollywood brass as Jeff Zucker, Norman Lear, Eric Gold, Michael Davies, Jack Black, Craig Robinson, Damon Wayans and Claire Daines.

Serving as an incubator for some of Drama 3/4's best work, Another Showcase Showdown spawned the VH-1 scripted series "I Hate My 30's," which featured several A.S.S. performers as principle cast and had at its helm writers/directors David Fickas and Brice Beckham. Drama 3/4 parlayed much of this success into many industry relationships, including ABC Family optioning a half-hour musical comedy script "The Fantasmonauts," based on an A.S.S sketch. Additionally, Drama 3/4 has worked closely with Reveille Entertainment on three separate branded web series: "Mr. Robinson's Driving School" with Craig Robinson, sponsored by Volvo; "5 Minute Office Workout," starring Bob Harper from NBC's "The Biggest Loser"; and "The Guys Manual," hosted by ESPN's Kenny Mayne and powered by Post Grape-Nuts.
