Central Desktop, a leading Software-as-a-Service (SaaS) social technology platform for next-generation business teams, today announced a partnership with ActiveWord Systems, Inc. to provide a free, custom version of ActiveWords software, a productivity tool for Microsoft Windows. ActiveWords for Central Desktop allows Central Desktop users to gain instant access to web pages, files, folders and programs by simply typing certain “trigger” words in any context at any time.

“ActiveWords is a great complementary tool to Central Desktop’s online collaboration software solution,” said Peter Weldon, President of ActiveWord Systems. “Using ActiveWords automates common, repetitive tasks and saves users valuable time. We’re excited to offer ActiveWords to Central Desktop’s customers and help them get more done in less time.”

ActiveWords is user interface technology that turns words into actions, allowing users to perform frequently used actions such as launching a program or opening a specific web page instantly. Once the trigger words are designated, users can enter them at any time and be directly transported to the services related to the meaning of that text.

The free version of ActiveWords for Central Desktop comes with 10 built-in keyboard shortcuts, including “Create New Calendar Event,” “Create New Task,” and “Host New Web Meeting.” Typing any of these words along with the activation key (F8 key or double space) immediately brings up the appropriate page within Central Desktop regardless of what applications or programs are open. The Central Desktop version also allows users to create up to 30 additional customized ActiveWords.

“Partnering with ActiveWords supports Central Desktop’s goal of helping our customers work more effectively and efficiently,” said Isaac Garcia, CEO and co-founder of Central Desktop. “ActiveWords simplifies processes and can make any Central Desktop function instantly available with just a few keystrokes. It doesn’t get any easier than that!”
