NextWindow, the leading provider of optical touch screens for desktop PCs, monitors and large-format displays, today announced it will demonstrate the latest in optical touch screen technology at the Integrated Systems Europe (ISE) conference in Amsterdam, February 2 – 4. On display in the NextWindow booth, #10/129, will be its 2150 and 2700 series products, each of which is a large-format display ranging in size from 30” – 120”. Both products are multi-touch enabled and leverage optical touch screen technology that NextWindow has been developing for 10 years.

The global market for touch screens that support digital signage and professional display applications is growing, according to research firm iSuppli. In a recent report, iSuppli said touch screens shipments for these markets is expected to grow more than fivefold by 2013. iSuppli analysts noted that by 2013, optical imaging, which NextWindow helped pioneer, will emerge as the leading touch screen technology in the signage and professional display market, accounting for 25.6% of worldwide shipments.    

NextWindow large-format displays are ideal for public-facing applications, such as digital signage or directories located in shopping malls, as well as for boardrooms and classrooms. Indeed, the 2150 and 2700 series screens are used heavily today in retail centers, office buildings and tourist attractions around the world. The most common applications of the products are as a replacement for conventional signage, information “wayfinders,” interactive whiteboards, and product kiosks. Visitors in a mall might use their fingers to scroll through a list of retail stores, re-size windows to view a variety of content simultaneously, or click through product videos or other interactive media. When combined with annotation software, NextWindow touch screens become an interactive whiteboard enabling executives and teachers to deliver more impactful presentations.
