Jimmy Finn, AIA, BOWA Builders vice president, recently received his professional registration from the State of Virginia and joined the American Institute of Architects (AIA), the leading professional membership association for licensed architects. The membership recognizes Finn's expertise in architecture and better enables him to serve as the clients' single point of accountability throughout the design and construction of their large-scale additions and renovations.
"Jimmy's professional registration helps to reiterate that BOWA is so much more than just a builder and reflects the company's commitment to continuing education as one of many tools required to best serve the complex needs of our clients during the renovation process," said Larry Weinberg, CEO of BOWA Builders. "Our in-house expertise, combined with our history of partnering with the area's premier architectural firms and consultative approach to the design and construction of projects sets us apart in our niche industry."
Working with BOWA Builders since 2004, Finn's design background includes more than 13 years of experience in residential design and construction, as well as commercial, institutional, and large-scale urban design projects. Because of his varied experience, Finn is able to bring a holistic understanding of design and construction principles to each of his projects. He completed his undergraduate studies in architecture at the University of Virginia and received his Master of Architecture from Virginia Polytechnic Institute and State University (Virginia Tech). Finn is now working towards his LEED accreditation through the Green Building Certification Institute (GBCI).
With nearly 300 state and local chapters, AIA serves as the voice of the architecture profession. Becoming a registered architect and member of the organization requires demonstration of expertise through education, professional experience and examination.
