We are excited to be leading this initiative for such a cutting-edge concept
Chicago, IL (PRWEB) February 4, 2010
Podi, Inc., Chicago maker of the world's first changeable shoe, has launched a new viral and social media campaign via Tom, Dick & Harry/Chicago.
The revolutionary Podi design, which was issued a U.S. patent late last year, allows the wearer to easily change the shoe's overall appearance by simply zipping on a new cover much the same way that a lining can be zipped in and out of a rain coat. The company also has patents pending in several European countries.
Podi CEO, and inventor of the concept, David Curry, said, "There's clearly a growing interest in customization across many markets and it just made sense to me that fashion, and especially shoes, should be no different. We are delighted to be working with TD&H and our initial efforts have already created quite a buzz. The entertaining film TD&H created has just launched but has already attracted thousands of views on YouTube. This idea clearly has traction."
The two-minute film was produced and directed by Joe Otting at Chicago's Fiber Films and can be viewed at http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=fmcGdBjQgQA.
"We are excited to be leading this initiative for such a cutting-edge concept," said Amy Markley, creative director at TD&H. "It's not every day that you get to be involved with a product that is the first of its kind in the world," she added.
The agency's additional social media efforts will include initiatives with Facebook, Twitter and blogs.
A private company established in 2004 Podi, Inc. sells exclusively via podiwear.com but is currently exploring additional distribution channels.
