Leading rustic décor retailer will focus on items from American manufacturers to ensure availability, quality and cost-effectiveness

Black Forest Décor, a mail order and Internet business specializing in cabin décor, lighting products and rustic bedding for homes, cabins and lodges, recently announced that their furniture offerings will mostly come from American manufacturers, thereby elevating the value of their inventory and improving customer service.

With the U.S. dollar decreasing in value in overseas markets, foreign goods have become costly, but not necessarily worth the increase in price. Black Forest Décor made the decision to focus on American products to not only save their customers money, but to be able to more easily stand by what they sell.

Black Forest Décor analyzed the practice of selling foreign vs. U.S. products, and found there to be a myriad of benefits other than cost savings. According to the company, ordering from local cabin furniture manufacturers means products are received more quickly, allowing for a consistent supply chain. There are seldom the troublesome shipping delays that are common with overseas orders, and the schedules for most U.S. businesses are in alignment.

"One of the biggest challenges we face with foreign manufacturers is product quality," said Jason Dupus, CEO of Black Forest Décor. "We've run into too many situations in which we received items that weren't exactly what we ordered. Perhaps it was a communication issue, but most likely those companies took shortcuts and used poorer quality materials than expected. Returning items to companies abroad is time-consuming and taxing, and we end up losing money."

Black Forest Décor is focused on providing the best quality merchandise at the best value, and they believe using U.S. manufacturers allows them to maintain the highest level of control over their inventory and the most responsive service to their customers.

"Our discriminating customers deserve superior quality products that are backed by excellent customer service," added Dupus. "We can provide this to them by making sure our rustic décor items are made right here in the U.S. - by U.S. workers."
