"Be Honest, don't renege, don't become a reneger, keeping your word is very important. It is the most important and precious thing any man has. Never go back on your word!"

Branson independent Country artist Michael Fischer has written, produced, and sung a new song that dubs President Obama, “The Great Reneger.” Fischer said, “I watched President Obama break so many of his promises that I felt obliged to say something. He is obviously not a man of his word.” Fischer went on to say, “I’m just one of the folks and we seldom have the opportunity to be heard. When I found that the song was striking a chord with so many, I decided to record it. Then a good friend offered to do a Video clip.” http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=QdKmc9aBELM
When asked how he got the idea for the song Fischer told a story. “When I was a young boy, my mother used a word that has stuck with me all of my life. If I was given a job to do and promised to do it but failed , Mom and I would have a talk. She told me that I had 'reneged' on my promise and had not kept my word. She told me, 'Be honest, don’t renege, don’t become a reneger; keeping your word is so very important. A man's word is his bond. It is the most important and precious thing that any man has. Never go back on your word.'”
Fischer, 62, performs with his wife Karyn and their two sons Sam, 12 and Reuben, 8. They call themselves The Fischers. As a Christian family they enjoy performing and sharing their music with others. Mike writes most of their songs but it’s the boys who are the stars of the show. Both boys started performing at an early age and you can watch some of their very cute and funny videos on youtube. The Fischers have two albums out entitled, “The Fischers” and “Don’t Make Me Come Down There!” Both albums are available on their website and all their songs can be downloaded individually. Because Mike went through the 50’s and 60’s his song writing tends to carry the flavor of those times and one review on the internet called their music, “Country-tinged, oldies rock’n roll.”
Both Michael and Karyn served as Christian missionaries overseas, and between them have over 35 years on the foreign mission fields of Australia, India, Japan, Siberia, Thailand, Malaysia and China. They returned to the States in 1996, and now enjoy taking their music and message out to perform wherever they can.
The Fischers website and store can be found at http://www.thefischers.net. There samples of their music can be heard, albums purchased, and as well MP3 downloads of all their songs are available. Also find more information about their performances and how to book their show.
