If our value as a company is measured by our ability to help satisfy our clients' goals then our value as people is measured by our ability to help our fellow humans' needs.
Atlanta, GA (PRWEB) February 1, 2010 -
Endeavor, The Telecom Truck Roll Company, is extraordinarily proud to announce a staff-based initiative for the benefit of helping provide medical assistance to victims struggling for their lives after the recent earthquakes in Haiti. Staffers encouraged one another to donate funds to Director Relief International or another charity organization of their choosing. Since Endeavor's business is largely centered in the North America theatre which includes the islands of the Caribbean and West Atlantic, the staff felt a particularly close sense of social responsibility which drove efforts to help provide aid during one the most severe natural disasters to hit the region in civilized history.
The money raised by internal Endeavor staff has been impressive, as many Endeavor employees who have recently received their annual bonuses have donated a significant portion of this bonus to the relief effort. This shows that Endeavor staff, who have been able to work at a company that did not have to downsize or cut benefits despite one of the worst economic periods in history, feel a greater social responsibility to give something back in order to help the less fortunate. Moved by the grass rooted unsanctioned philanthropy of his staff, all funds donated by staff members were personally matched by Endeavor's CEO, Justin McLain.
Chuck Porterfield, a member of Endeavor's third shift Service Delivery team, is the staffer who suggested holding the fundraiser. "We at Endeavor know that our success is built on the strength of our human capital and, by extension, the way we treat others," said Porterfield. "If our value as a company is measured by our ability to help satisfy our clients' goals then our value as people is measured by our ability to help our fellow humans' needs."
While employees donated to those charities which they felt most comfortable, funds collected by Endeavor on behalf of the staff were donated to Direct Relief International. Founded in 1948, Direct Relief International is a nonsectarian, nongovernmental, and apolitical organization devoted to providing medical supplies and equipment to areas affected by poverty and natural disaster. According to their website, every dollar spent by Direct Relief has provided between $21 and $37 of wholesale medical material aid requested by in-country medical professionals. This track record of success, along with its programs that emphasize maternal and child health and focus on providing assistance to primary care health clinics, led to Endeavor selecting it to receive the donations raised by the staff.
