Columbia, MD (PRWEB) February 3, 2010
Mind Conceive, Inc. today announced the launch of RapChamp.com, an internet-based music competition website focused on the hip-hop and rap genres. The site, currently in beta, will identify top musicians and ultimately crown the Rap Champ. Additionally, the competition provides a new outlet for musicians to engage their fans and promote their music.
“RapChamp solves an issue that musicians and music lovers face everyday – the extensive amount of time it takes to discover new artists and determine who are the next hit makers,” says LeVar Dixon, Founder. “We see ourselves as the American Idol™ for Hip Hop and can supplement other artist promotion activities by encouraging fan activity and engagement. Our real-time ranking algorithm determines which artists are preferred by fans. Once identified, we promote these top artists through working with our industry partners - DJ SnS (Mixtape Pioneer), Statik Selektah (super producer), DJ Kris Styles (The Game's DJ), and DJ Junior (Interscope Records & Black Wall Street), and DJ Dallas Green (NBA Resident DJ). We look forward to further discussions with other potential partners.”
Prizes for the competition may vary, but artists can receive:
- Inclusion on a RapChamp sponsored mixtape produced by a leading industry DJ
- Songs produced by leading producers
- Sponsored promotion on MixtapeFactory.com
- Exposure through the nationwide Rap Champ Tour
- Free clothing from B.xclusive
- Gift certificates and other prizes
According to the music trade publication Billboard, 2007 rap sales have dropped 44% since 2000. This trend has continued throughout 2009 and has adversely impacted marketing and promotion for most artists. Hip hop fans can visit the site to discover new artists by listening to 30 second snippets and voting for the artists that they like.
To use RapChamp, musicians simply need to go to http://www.rapchamp.com, sign up for a free account, add an original song to the competition, and then promote their competition entry to their fans via a unique link on social networks (e.g.,Twitter, Facebook, or MySpace).
