The accomplished DJ and producer gained initial fame in the UK rave scene of the early 1990s, and is now best known as an innovator in the drum and bass style.
Along with MC Conrad, Steve Bray, and Kris Oliver, Bukem will play a one off drum and bass set on the ocean front at Beach Republic. The event will be a daytime poolside affair with doors opening at noon. Swim suits and bikinis are highly advised.
Tickets are priced at 300 Baht in advance and for Beach Republic Consul Card members, and 400 Baht at the door. Entrance includes one drink. Pizza, Tapas, and a BBQ buffet will be on offer all day.
Asked about the event, Beach Republic founder Tim Dean-Smith said “Samui is evolving into a hip up-market destination, and artists such as LTJ Bukem are an additional draw to this tropical paradise”.
Since its opening in December, 2008 Beach Republic has established itself as the original premier Samui beach club. Beach Republic is an island favorite with local and international DJs making regular appearances. The weekly Sunday Sessions Roast and BBQ was recently rated Samui’s best brunch by Fah Thai magazine.
In typical Beach Republic fashion, the day after LTJ Bukem performs, on February 14th the club will be venue to a special Sunday Sessions Valentine’s Day pool party a sumptuous buffet spread, and local DJ Adam Matson playing a cool blend of funk, electro soul, nu-disco, and body popping house music.
