Highland Park, MI (PRWEB) February 1, 2010
Budco, a leading fulfillment and direct marketing company, announced today that it has completed the acquisition of the fulfillment and database marketing divisions of the Direct Group, a New Jersey-based direct marketing company. The acquisition strengthens Budco’s current fulfillment and database marketing capabilities and expands the organizations overall geographic footprint.
“Budco has a well-defined, long-term strategic plan to grow and improve our core fulfillment, direct marketing and performance measurement capabilities,” said Chairman of Budco Perry Miele. “This acquisition represents a significant and positive step in moving forward to solidify our position as a market leader.
“The Direct Group has a strong reputation as a quality organization that has always focused on meeting customer expectations and delivering positive ROI. This commitment aligns perfectly with Budco’s vision and mission,” continued Miele.
Prior to the acquisition, Budco’s fulfillment and direct marketing operations included three Michigan-based facilities, a California-based strategic fulfillment partner and additional satellite offices in California, New Jersey and Florida. Now, operations will expand to include a fulfillment center located in Robbinsville, New Jersey, and a database management and marketing analytics group located in Piscataway, New Jersey. This provides Budco with complete coast-to-coast operations.
“Our expanded geographic footprint will allow us to better manage fulfillment and account management resources, as well as expand mailing and logistic options for our clients,” said President of Budco Terry Niles. “Additionally, expanded database marketing resources will allow us to continue down a path we have been on for some time; the ability to apply performance measurement and insight in new ways to drive innovative client solutions.”
Budco will continue to be headquartered in Highland Park, Michigan. The staff and facilities located in Robbinsville and Piscataway, New Jersey, will remain in operation. Additionally, members of the Direct Group’s executive management team will join Budco’s executive management team, including Direct Group’s Chief Strategy Officer Matt Graham and Vice President of Database Marketing Ken Palma.
President and CEO of Direct Group Don McKenzie will retain his current title and join Budco as Vice Chairman. “We are thrilled to be part of bringing together such a wealth of talent and resources,” said McKenzie. “Our mutual client-centric focus and now strengthened capabilities will allow Budco to offer new, fully integrated fulfillment and direct marketing solutions that will be unmatched in the market. “
Palma commented, “Budco has a powerful technology platform and great experience in customer data management. Now, with the added strength of Direct Group’s data management, analytics and statistical modeling capabilities, we will be able to offer a whole new level of solutions to our current and future customers.”
Business integration will begin immediately. Direct Group was represented by Petsky Prunier Securities LLC, a leading investment bank serving marketing, information and digital media companies. Terms of the acquisition were not released.
