Energistics, the upstream oil and gas open standards consortium, announced today that Ms. Cindy Reece of ExxonMobil has been elected Chair of its Board of Directors. The Chair was formerly held by Dr. David Latin of BP.
“Cindy brings a wealth of both oilfield and not-for-profit Board experience to Energistics.” said Randy Clark, President & CEO of Energistics. “Cindy understands the challenges facing the industry to adopt and implement open data exchange standards and will be a welcome voice for our pro-active approach to gaining global implementation.”
Ms. Reece is currently the Upstream Technical Computing Manager for ExxonMobil Technical Computing Company where she and her team are responsible for the Upstream Technical Computing System and the technical support of ~4000 engineers and geoscientists worldwide. She also is the Program Manager for a business-led improvement initiative to create the future subsurface work environment. Ms. Reece has spent the last 32 years with ExxonMobil in a variety of assignments in Production and Development as well as engineering and operations and now IT. She has degrees in both petroleum engineering and business and is a licensed professional engineer in Texas.
