Award recognizes innovative solutions for telecommunications providers.

M4 clients will look their best in front of City Council and Boards as they present their fiber expansion plans through the new interface

For the fourth consecutive year, Mapcom Systems has been recognized for its development of innovative technology by winning a national award. This week, Mapcom won first place in the “Innovations Showcase,” held in conjunction with the Organization for the Promotion and Advancement of Small Telecommunications Companies (OPASTCO) Winter Convention in San Diego, California.

Mapcom’s winning entry displayed the new ability to visualize M4 Solutions Suite data in Google Earth™. Viewing operations data in Google Earth gives M4 customers a new means of sharing information on fiber builds, vehicle locations, non-take rates and more. The judging was based on the level of innovation, usefulness, significance of improvement and relevance in the rural marketplace.

Mapcom’s M4 Solution Suite was developed as a geographical, map-based platform from which telecommunications providers could easily manage operations. Current offerings include tools for providing network and infrastructure management, fleet and workforce management and building/campus security services. The introduction of Google Earth as a platform for sharing M4 snapshots creates new sophistication in presenting complex information through a compelling visual interface. “M4 clients will look their best in front of City Council and Boards as they present their fiber expansion plans through the new interface,” said John Granger, CEO of Mapcom Systems. “The sales force for commercial telecommunication services will be on top of every detail when they can show prospects the location of the closest available circuits,” Granger continued.
