Top Global Linux SDK reduces development time and cost for developers and OEMs, opens new markets in telematics, transportation, vending, POS, and delivers new applications in energy, industrial, agriculture, financial, and building automation.

Top Global (http://www.topglobalusa.com) today announced the availability of a new software development kit (SDK) supporting Linux operating systems. The Linux SDK offers OEM (original equipment manufacturer) customers a more streamlined and cost efficient development cycle for M2M devices using Gobi1000 or Gobi2000 embedded modules. This makes the Gobi modules a more viable connectivity option for devices using Linux to support opportunities in telematics, transportation, fleet management, navigation, POS, vending, and to delivery new applications/solutions in energy, industrial, agriculture, and building automation.

Top Global has been developing 3G wireless devices supporting the Linux operating system for more than 10 years, starting with the release of the MobileBridge products. The Linux SDK is designed to enable Top Global customers to leverage our expertises, reducing OEM development costs and time-to-market while enabling wireless wide area M2M networking features with high performance.

“For years, Top Global has been offering a comprehensive and easy to use portfolio of 3G routers and gateways,” said Dr.Alan Zhen Zhou, President & CTO of Top Global. “As mobile broadband speeds and coverage continue to improve, developers in new market segments are leveraging integrated 3G wireless technologies to improve efficiencies and deliver robust offerings faster and easier especially with the added flexibilities of Gobi technology.”

Top Global develop the Linux SDK for our Gobi Router MB7900 by leveraging our SmartDriver technology which was developed over the last 10 years and can support over 100 Aircards, USBs, and embedded modules from all the vendors around the world. Top Global's Gobi SDK works with processors such as ARM, MIPS, and PowerPC. The SDK is fully tested and proven in our own products which are in high volume production.

The Top Global Linux SDK includes device drivers and Application Programming Interface (API) with sample applications, a firmware download utility, and documentation. It supports devices using either Gobi1000 or Gobi2000 module and program by software for both CDMA and GSM networks, allowing customers to streamline development time for devices and applications targeted for multiple network operators worldwide.

The Top Global Linux SDK allows customers to take advantage of Top Global's expertise in wireless device driver development.
