Chef2Chef.net has announced the 10 best chef books of 2009 as voted on by members of the site's culinary community. More than 70,000 votes were registered across 12 categories by Chef2Chef.net community members and site visitors. La Technique: The Fundamental Techniques of Cooking: An Illustrated Guide took top honors in the chef book category during the annual voting process designed to determine "the best of the best in all things culinary."
"La Technique is a great book for chefs of all skill levels," Chef2Chef.net spokesperson, Seth Restaino said. "The votes were close, but our (Chef2Chef.net) community members chose Jacques Pepin's illustrated guide as the best of the best."
La Technique: The Fundamental Techniques of Cooking: An Illustrated Guide was one of 100 nominations to make in through the first round of voting to become the best chef book of 2009. The 10 best chef books of 2009 were ranked by community members and site visitors through a second round of voting. The results were close, with many of the chef books separated by the narrowest of margins.
