Magnolia Americas Appoints Andrew King as Director of Business Development

Open Source content management vendor Magnolia International has appointed Andrew P. King as its new US Director of Business Development. King will be responsible for sales and channel development for the enterprise licensed versions of Magnolia CMS across America.
 
“I am extremely excited to be driving Magnolia’s business forward in the world's largest ecommerce market, especially as I know there is a significant demand for our product,” commented King. “My first task is to concentrate on building-out our network of quality US channel partners to service existing demand. With this in place, we are expecting US growth in line with Magnolia’s historic annual license revenue growth of at least 60%.”

King comes to Magnolia from a position as a Territory Sales Manager at competing content management vendor Alfresco. In this role, he was part of a small team that grew Alfresco’s  revenue by 103% in the financial year 2007- 2008, and he was awarded the title of ‘Top Performing Sales Manager’.  Prior to Alfresco, Andrew worked as Marketing Communications Manager at Open Source systems integrators Cignex Technologies.

Magnolia’s already impressive US user base has largely developed organically, through online proliferation of the company’s popular Open Source product. However more recently, the company has experienced growing American demand for the company’s commercially licensed enterprise editions from organizations including JBoss.org, Johnson & Johnson, Sony and The US Department of Defense.
